This was a tough game for the Suns, and they just couldn’t hang with the Jazz on either side of the court. The Jazz ran away with the game in the second half, and beat the Suns by a score of 103-69.

The Suns found themselves down by as many as nine points in the first quarter, but the Suns were able to make it a one point game before Rodney Rood hit a turnaround jumper to end the quarter and give the Jazz a 24-21 lead. Each Suns starter that didn’t have a first name starting with a ‘T’ was able to score in the first quarter, but the offense couldn’t keep up when the second came around. Jon Leuer once again carried the offensive production off the bench in the second quarter, scoring nine points on 4-4 shooting. The Suns trailed by eight at the half with a score of 46-38.

The Suns struggled the entire second half, and that started in the third quarter. The Suns didn’t score a single point until the 6:33 mark, where P.J. Tucker was able to hit a shot from the corner to make it a score of 56-41. The Suns couldn’t get it going for any sort of stretch, and a 15 pointdeficitt turned to 20, and then to 30. The final differential was 34 points, with a score of 103-69 in favor of the Jazz.

The Jazz looked like a team fighting for a playoff spot, and the Suns looked like a team who isn’t. The Suns shot 28-82(34.1%) from the field, 6-24(25%) from the three point line, and 7-14(50%) from the free throw line. The Jazz on the other hand shot 43-88(48.9%) from the field, 11-24(45.8%) from behind the arc, and 6-9 from the free throw line. The Suns were out-rebounded 51-43, and the Jazz forced the Suns to turn the ball over 21 times. The Suns were outscored every single quarter, with the largest scoring margin coming in the fourth quarter, where the Suns were outscored 32-15.

Brandon Knight led the Suns in scoring with 17 points, and added in eight rebounds and a block. Knight only hit 6 of his 16 shots and turned the ball over six times.

Jon Leuer was really the one Sun who was able to play well. Jonny Badger scored 14 points off the bench on 6-8 shooting while hitting his only three point attempt. He grabbed eight rebounds and tallied two steals in 17 and a half minutes of play.
