The Phoenix Suns battled the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game that was close all night.  Mirza Teletovic hit a game winning three to lift the Suns to a 107-104 win.

Here’s the video of the game winner!

Minnesota’s young players played extremely well.  Zach LaVine had 28 points, three rebounds, and an assist.  He was 10-15 from the field and he is showing improvement on his jump shot.  Andrew Wiggins had 22 points along with four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.  Ricky Rubio did his usual damage dishing out dimes.  He had 13 points, three rebounds, 17 assists, and four steals.

The Suns had 23 turnovers, which hurt, but they made up for that poor stat by out rebounding the Wolves 38-30.

This game was interesting because the Suns could have lost to make it easier for them to get a higher draft pick, but you’ll never hear me complain about a win.  This was a fun one.

Which Suns Shone the Brightest?

1. P.J. Tucker – Tucker had a career high 23 points as well as 12 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  He was playing with a lot of heart and that is something that this team desperately needs.

2. Mirza Teletovic – Aside from just the game winner, Teletovic had a great game.  He had 21 points in 29 minutes off the bench.  He also had eight rebounds and a steal.  Teletovic went 5-9 from three point range and he continues to lead the league in threes made off the bench.

3. Tyson Chandler – I have not put Chandler here for a while, but he played really well tonight.  He had a nice double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  He had two nice put-back dunks that energized the team.

The Suns hit the road to face the Utah Jazz on Thursday, March 17 at 6:00 PM.
