Tonight was a night for one team to pick up their first win of the season and sadly it was not our beloved New Orleans Pelicans. Evan Fournier dropped 30 points showing his jump shot throughout the contest. After a struggling first half we managed to get as close as within five with less than three minutes to go. Fournier would then nail a couple of three’s and seal their first victory of the season and hand the Pelicans their fourth loss of the season. Defense again had miscues with shifting over for help and with execution. The Pelicans have now allowed over 100 points in all four losses this year. The defense was not helped by the offense tonight for the Pelicans shot 36.5 percent (32-90). Also Anthony Davis stat line on the offensive end was not one for the books. He managed to knock down 14 points on only 3 for 12 shooting from the floor. He did however manage on the defensive side to get five blocks, and also pulled down 9 rebounds. On a positive note for Pelican’s fans Eric Gordon gave Pelican fans something to hope continues which was strong aggressive play. He dropped 21 points on 8/19 shooting as well as dishing out four assists. As injuries still plague the Pelicans do not count this young team out yet as they continue to find themselves and see the better fits of the team. The Pelicans have another home battle with East foes Atlanta Hawks this Friday at 7:00.
