Harden drops 42 in win against Wizards
On Tuesday night, Houston lost a close game against a horrible Brooklyn Nets team. Harden in probably his worst game of the season went for 10 points on 2-9 shooting, 9 assists and 7 turnovers. Brooklyn has 6 total wins this season, but 2 of them have come against Houston.
Houston followed up that performance with another close victory against Washington. This time Harden went for 42 points on 23 shots. And unlike games in the past where Harden has scored 40+ out of necessity because no one else was contributing, he got solid games from several teammates. Beverly with 14 points (4-11 from behind the arc) and Brewer scoring 15 points on 6-12 from the field.
Speaking of Brewer, he got the start at Small Forward today for the injured Trevor Ariza. Brewer has been putting up some solid performances after being abysmal earlier in the season.
In todays game Houston shot 12-33 (36%) from behind the arc and in the month of December the are shooting over 40% from 3. It’s a far cry from the 30% they shot in the first month of the season that had them near the bottom of the league in that category. They led the league in three point attmepts last season, and shooting a decent percentage from there has been a key part of their offense giving Harden more space on his drives.
