In their penultimate game of the season the Phoenix Suns faced the Sacramento Kings who were without star big man Demarcus Cousins due to rest.  The Suns fought hard, but fell 105-101.

The Kings were aided by a huge game from Seth Curry who finished with 20 points and a career high 15 assists. He was making plays all game and he had flashes that looked a bit like his brother.

With Cousins’ absence Kosta Koufos saw the floor more and tied his career high in points with 19. He also pulled down eight rebounds.

The Kings did not have much bench production, but they did not need it. Their starters all scored in double figures. This along with the small bench production was enough to overpower the Suns.

Phoenix had some impressive play from the starters. Three starters finished with double-doubles.  Mirza Teletovic had 26 points off the bench as well. This kept the game close, but the Suns could not finish in the waning moments of the game.

Which Suns Shone the Brightest?

1. Alex Len – 16 points and 12 boards made for an impressive game for Len. His progress this season has been important for the team and he is set to be a main part of the team next season.

2. P.J. Tucker – Tucker has been a huge part of the Suns’ hustle game this season. He works hard and fights for every rebound. Tonight he finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. He was in some trade talks before the deadline, but remained in Phoenix. His future may be in another city, but his effort is greatly appreciated in the desert.

3. Mirza Teletovic – Catch and shoot specialist, Mirza Teletovic extended the record for most three point shots made off the bench in a season tonight by adding four more threes to the tally. Teletovic has been an important free agent addition to the team. Hopefully we can see him play in a Suns uniform next season as well.

The Suns close out the season at home as the host the Clippers at 7:30 PM PT.
